The meaning of freedom

The Meaning of Freedom
In Harrison Bergeron the meaning of freedom is that one has the right to do what ever they want, but no better or worse than anyone else. In The Pedestrian people do the same thing everyday, and every night, and it is considered weird to do something other than what everybody does.
In the first story here, everybody is considered equal, just like the second one, but they are equal in a different way: the people in the first story are equal as to what they are able to do. There is no competition in the world, but if they want to spend their lives doing whatever it is they feel, they can; in the second story, the people are equal on how they spend their lives. If they want, they can play sports or broadcast something, they can, but at night, they need to stay at home and watch television for some reason.
